“Completed, in fact, since the artist died in 2020, Judit Reigl’s work perhaps only more visibly unfolds what animated it from beginning to end. And it is because we know its beginning and its end today that we can truly escape the linear and teleological narrative that its comings and goings between figuration and abstraction have never ceased to challenge; Or, in other words, that we can take the full measure of the continuity it holds within– “My entire work constitutes a single series, from the age of three to the present day,” she said, – which takes the form of a cyclical display, series after series, that she described in these terms: “I go from one to the other, then as if in a spiral, I return to the beginning, but one floor higher.”"
