Poster published by the Dina Vierny Gallery in 1973 on the occasion of the exhibition "Russian Avant-Garde Moscow 73", where the works of Kabakov, Boulatov, Yankilevsky, and Rabin were first discovered.
The Dina Vierny Gallery decided to reinterpret an iconic exhibition conceived by Dina Vierny exactly 50 years ago: "Russian Avant-Garde Moscow 73". The gallery owner had secretly smuggled works from a group of non-conformist artists out of the Soviet Union, who have since become the leading figures of this movement. The works of Boulatov, Kabakov, Yankilevsky, and Rabin—who were unable to exhibit their paintings in the USSR—were presented to the French public for the first time in 1973, on the walls of Rue Jacob, causing a real visual shock. The success of the exhibition was so great that it was extended for several months and had an extraordinary impact.
