A rare album by Dina Vierny, one of the few privileged “Westerners” to have been in direct contact with the first survivors, common-law prisoners returned from Siberia during the opening period under Khrushchev.
In Moscow, Dina Vierny heard these songs, filled with a terrible pent-up rage. She learned them by heart, so that the world would know - it would have been difficult to get any recordings through customs. On her return to Paris, she recorded these testimonial songs for a big party with her fallen Russian poet friends. In the process, she adds a few light arrangements, a guitar and a double bass, to these naked voices...
